freight train running through

how i learned to love the bomb

i shot Pablo Ferro for the new art & film issue of Paris-LA. grand innovator in design, typography and editing, he created the title sequences and trailers for Dr. Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, The Thomas Crown Affair, Harold and Maude, Midnight Cowboy, The Russians Are Coming, Being There, Stop Making Sense, and a million others. he pioneered quick-cut editing before the masses (see here and here) and split-screens. before kubrick brought him into movies he was the freak of madison avenue (i keep waiting for a character based on him to show up on mad men). he edited the music video for Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ and did the first color animation of the NBC peacock. he’s worn a black suit and red scarf everyday for decades because ‘it tells me who i am.’

it’s a good sign when you admit you’re lost
